Although the number of acronyms in the opening paragraph might seem overwhelming at first, they are widely recognised and frequently used within the European HPC community. CASTIEL2 (Coordination and Support for the National Competence Centres) provides a framework to connect and harmonise the work of NCCs across Europe, guaranteeing consistent support and knowledge-sharing. EuroCC2 drives the continuation and expansion of the National Competence Centres, offering expertise, training, and services to researchers, industry, and public administration. EuroCC4SEE focuses specifically on South-East Europe, fostering regional collaboration and bridging local HPC communities with the broader European ecosystem. Together, these initiatives form a vital network that underpins Europe’s ambition to lead in HPC.
For ChEESE, the meeting was an opportunity to highlight its role in geohazard challenges with cutting-edge HPC technologies. It was also a chance to exchange insights with the NCCs and other CoEs, reinforcing collaboration and aligning efforts to advance Europe’s HPC ecosystem.

The gathering encouraged cross-border dialogue on strategy, communication, and community-building, while also focusing on practical aspects such as outreach, joint initiatives, and knowledge exchange. By actively engaging in these discussions, ChEESE continues to build bridges between research communities, HPC experts, and operational stakeholders. The project also presented a poster showcasing its work in this area.
The All-Hands Meeting reinforced the shared vision of leveraging HPC and AI for scientific, societal, and industrial impact. For ChEESE, being part of this ecosystem means contributing expertise in exascale-ready solutions for geophysical simulations, while benefiting from the collective knowledge and resources of Europe’s HPC network.
